LASIK TREATMENTS FOR REFRACTIVE CONDITIONS

LASIK is the nation’s most popular vision correction procedure and has been used to treat millions of eyes. Advancements in this technology mean you can experience visual freedom with less dependence on glasses and contacts. At RGB Eye Associates, our board-certified ophthalmologists use the latest, most effective laser eye surgery technique to help you achieve your best vision outcome possible: all-laser LASIK.

At RGB Eye Associates, we understand that the idea of LASIK surgery can be an intimidating one. LASIK is a highly advanced procedure that takes only 15-20 seconds per eye, and less than 30 minutes for the entire procedure. With the latest technology and the expertise of our ophthalmologists, you can rest assured that your safety is paramount. In addition, LASIK precision has advanced substantially in the recent years. If you were previously denied LASIK due to thin corneas, you may now be a candidate.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR LASIK PROCEDURE

First, Dr. Burlingame, Dr. Plauché or Dr. Bossen will prepare the intracorneal bed by creating a corneal flap using an infrared light beam. Then tiny pulses of laser light, a quadrillionth of a second each, pass harmlessly through the outer portion of your cornea and form a uniform layer of microscopic bubbles just beneath the surface of your eye. The exact dimensions of this layer of bubbles are determined by your doctor based on what’s best for your eye, and are computer-controlled for maximum precision. The bubbles define the precise architecture of the intracorneal surface, as well as the distinct beveled edge of the resulting flap. The LASIK procedure is complete when the flap is securely repositioned on its beveled edge.

At RGB Eye Associates, we believe in presenting you with all the information you need to make an informed decision. Our dedicated eye doctors and LASIK consulting team will involve you in the process and spend time ensuring you have every opportunity to ask questions. If you’re interested in laser vision correction, the first step is an initial examination to determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK. We offer a complimentary evaluation of your eyes and computerized mapping of your cornea. We look forward to talking with you about how we can help you improve your vision.
