Cataract Surgeon in Sherman, TX
Dr. Phillips was awarded a National Merit scholarship to attend the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a B.S. in Microbiology, with Special Distinction, and was accepted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2012. His medical internship and Ophthalmology Residency were then completed at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX. After completion of his residency, Dr. Phillips returned home to practice ophthalmology in Durant, OK for 2.5 years before joining the RGB Eye Associates in January 2019.
Dr. Phillips is a member of the following professional associations: American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Christian Ophthalmology Society.
Dr. Phillips has deep roots in Bryan County, Oklahoma, as he grew up in Bokchito, OK & graduated Valedictorian from Rock Creek High School in 2003. He and his wife, DeAnne, share a blended family of four children: Kennedy, Hudson, Gentry, and Harper. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing music, and volunteering as an official at local academic bowl tournaments for junior high and high school students.
