Dr. Plauché earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport, LA. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Northeast Louisiana University, from which he graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Plauché did his internship in internal medicine at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas with Texas A&M Medical School. He did his ophthalmology residency at Scott & White as well. Dr. Plauché proudly served 15 years in the military with the United States Army and the Louisiana National Guard. He completed his service in the Army as a Captain-General Medical Officer.

Dr. Plauché holds memberships in the following associations and organizations: American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Grayson County Medical Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Texas Ophthalmologic Association.

Dr. Plauché and his wife Cheryl have two children: daughter, Avalon and a son, Hunter. Dr. Plauché spends his free time hunting, fishing, gardening, and traveling with his family.

When asked what his favorite thing about being an ophthalmologist, he stated his favorite thing was restoring people’s vision. He stated that being able to help people from nearly going blind to then having perfect vision again is one of the greatest feeling in the world.
